This is a gourd.
I will chronicle the life of this fresh gourd until it's dry and turned into a maraca (our whatever that shaker is called).
I actually bought this gourd three days ago so this would technically be day three. But since I didn't think of the pod until about fifteen minutes ago, we'll call this day one. Good thing I already have this blog started. Hopefully I'd be able to keep up with it.. even for three weeks our however long it takes to dry the gourd.
I wanna but a few more to turn into a maraca so I can gift it to others.
Here's how to make your own:
Start with a fresh gourd. Once a week shake the gourd vigorously to loosen the seeds inside. Burp it like a baby, even. Farmer said it'll completely dry in three months. At which point you can decorate and paint it and mali music with it.
Coolness!
Best time to buy it now, I guess cos it's Halloween and readily available. Otherwise I wouldn't know where to get it from.
